Default Replacement roller bearing guides for a CtJ-3501 (Carbatec 14")

    All,

My bandsaw guides broke some years ago - the low grade casting fractured in three places over time. Seems like mixed metals between the casting, bolts and guide adjusters don't help.

Looking at the Carbatec replacements (Deluxe 14" Blade Guide Set | Carbatec) , I expect no more qualit by spending $150 or so on replacement guides. They are identical to the failed ones. (Saw is old - well out of warrantee..)

Does anyone know of an alternative?

The top guide attaches to the 22mm round post.

I'm a bit reluctant to spend $305 on the Carter option. Carter Jet 14 Guide Conversion Kit - M M Vic Sales and Service
Although they look like they would last a lot longer than the Cabatec offering.

I've searched high and low and just can't seem to find a copy / knockoff anywhere. Which is odd, given the high price and relative simplicity (potential margin). I'd have thought some factory in China had identified the gap in the market by now..

    Any ideas?

An amazing resource there but sadly nothing that suits. Looks like it’s going to be those gold plated Carter ones.

Got the Carter ones. Fit perfectly. Precision made and really nice. Sooo much better than the Carbatec ones. They cost 1/3 of the bandsaw price but now the saw works the way it should. Easy to adjust and look as durable as you’d expect.
