That'll be it! I'll definitely have the part, just need to figure out which one it is!

Getting around to doing some more work on this bandsaw. The motor is now in place with the pulley, although I need to tighten and balance it all up yet.

Working on the tension box at the top. Took me a while to figure it out, but here's how I think it works in case it's useful for anyone else ...

    1. First I screw in the larger plate with the axle for the top wheel.

    2. You can put in the smaller plate with the top knob on an angle. You don't have to try and get it all into the closed space at once. There seems to be a fair bit of slack in the top hole which makes this easier.

    3. You can then turn the box into place and put in the side screws. As someone mentioned earlier, the side screws are only used to hold the box in place along the "runners".

    4. The side knob goes in to push against the inside of the inner box. It's all a bit lose but should tighten up when the wheel and blade are on.

    Cheers,
    Af.

    Default Some assistance please ...

I've put the motor, the spacer, and the bottom wheel/pulley all on. The wheel itself though spins freely. I'm assuming it needs to be fixed into place by a grub screw or something, would that be correct? The concern I have though is that the motor, when switched off comes to a sudden stop instead of winding down slowly. This might cause some stress on the other parts. Perhaps a different motor might be needed. Keen for expert's thoughts on this.

Secondly, when I tighten the nut on the outside of the bottom axle, the whole thing binds to the frame and doesn't spin. Is it usual for this to happen, and therefore should I keep it all a little loose?

Finally, as with all of these projects, I have some pieces left over. Any ideas where they might go would be much appreciated.

    Cheers,
    Af.

Hi, I am in South Africa. Bought the EzyCut yesterday afternoon and excited to renovate it. Thanks for the inspiration. The bar appears to be the end piece which is fixed to the bandsaw table once you have slid the blade into place.

The bar goes across the front face of the table, it is what the fence clamps to.
