Rikon 10-321 bandsaw
Hi,
Does anyone own a Rikon 10-321 bandsaw?
I bought one, and am having trouble with attaching the actual saw to the stand assembly.

From the instructions it looks like the saw and the stand are held together with 4 hex head machine screws (fully threaded bolts) with a washer on each side and a nut underneath. That would seem to be pretty easy if the stand has been assembled properly and the holes are there and in the right place. What exactly is the problem you're having? A picture is worth a thousand words.

I don't know how to upload photos to the forum, sorry.
The kit came with 4 hex head screws M6 x 35, 8 hex nuts, 8 6mm washers and 4 smaller washers. The holes do align, but the bolts supplied only seem to be just long enough to fit through the stand and allow for one nut.
The base is not solid, it is mostly hollow - like a shoe box lid (not sure how to describe it) The only contact of base to stand would be through the base's edges.
If attached using the bolts provided, would this be secure enough?
Does anybody got this particular model? Are all the entry level bandsaws like this?

I can understand that it doesn't seem very sturdy, but suspect you will find that it'll work fine. Use the 4 M6 x 35mm bolts, the eight washers and 4 nuts. Tighten until the tension is firm, if you start to see distortion of the saw base or stand that's tight enough. I don't know what the other 4 nuts or smaller washers are for (unless the small washers are spring washers?), in which case put them between the nut and the flat washer. It is highly unlikely that the attaching bolts are supposed to have 2 nuts on them.

Thanks Aldav. I will give it a try.
I have been trying to assemble the stand to the machine while it is laying down, and planning to upright the saw when the stand is secure. Is this how you assembled yours, or did you lift the saw onto the stand?
Sorry for all the questions, I really appreciate your help.

I would put the stand right way up and then put the saw onto it, then fasten the bolts as suggested. The Rikon are s good unit I had one for three years and couldn’t fault it. Good luck.

The Operators Manual also suggests putting the stand together, standing it up in its normal position then getting an assistant to help pick up the bandsaw and lower it onto the stand:
https://www.rikontools.com/manuals/10-321.pdf page 5 refers.
The instructions/diagram on the same page seem to say that the hex bolt goes in from underneath and the order of things (from the bottom up) is:
Hex bolt
Washer
Stand
Saw Base
Washer
Hex nut
Washer (different part number - Perhaps spring washer?)
Hex nut (on top)
Seems a bit belt and braces having two nuts on top plus two washers but I guess this thing is heavy and nobody really wants it to vibrate off its stand then go for a shimmy around the workshop….
Regards,
Brian

Thanks for the link to the manual Brian - it is different to the one that came with the saw. The set up for the stand in your manual also shows where the extra washer and nut are supposed to go, whereas the leaflet I was given doesn't.
I'm pretty sure that there will not be enough thread going through to accommodate the extras, so I bought a few longer bolts (just in case)
