    Default Tension adjustment modification

I have one of these generic Taiwanese bandsaws which generally does a pretty good job for my needs. However the tension adjustment has always been awkward because the knob to adjust it is an awkward shape, too small and can't be reached from the front. In short it's a pain to use.

So I did the following quick modification using some threaded rod and plywood scraps. The threaded rod fits the existing nut:

This is a much better solution as it provides plenty of leverage and can be used from the front.

I know another bandsaw in the same boat and I can see this modification being put to good use.

Excellent! I'm glad I posted it.

One observation I've made (that has nothing to do with bandsaws) is that there have been over 1,000 views of this post of which about fifty have been members. But without being a member you can't see the photos if I remember correctly (I think this is the same for all forums that use this forum software). But this post in particular has no value without the photos, wouldn't you agree? So about 1,000 people who could potentially have been helped haven't because of that reason.

So if you're a non member of the forum and find yourself reading this you should consider joining .

As they say a picture says a 1000 words. If people want to see this modification then they need to be a member, not a member, you miss out on good idea

Can I ask what size wheel did you make, looks like about 200 - 250 mm and about 19mm thick.

Wheel has a diameter of 340mm so bigger than it looks! I used 18mm ply.

You're right, I logged out and looked at the post and no pictures. I guess there are so many forums around now you can't be a member of them all otherwise you will get nothing done.
