    Default lower bearing guides

    Hi All,

I've got a Magno 350 bandsaw (Chinese Elektra Beckum clone) and I have broken the lower guide casting (did it up too tight). I think it was cast from old soft drink tins or something, but it is a fairly low-end machine so I can't be too surprised I guess.

Anyway, rather than buy a replacement part, and given the original was never much good, (which is why I was hanging off it with the spanner) does anybody have any suggestions about upgrading to a set of aftermarket guides eg roller bearing etc to suit these types of bandsaws?

I guess it might be throwing good money after bad, but the machine doesn't have a bad motor, and the wheels seem to run true enough for what I use it for, so it would be ashame not to keep it going.

willing to help, but how can we help without some additional information ~ what does your mango look like?

Is there an opportunity for a warranty / faulty part replacement?

Thanks Tony- this is a pic of the bandsaw. (bought from WMS in Melbourne) I can get a replacement from the supplier but I was wondering if there was a better set of guides I could attach really.
