Tensioning a Ryobi HBS150L
Good Morning All
well, I got my new bands and they look great (though there was a brief Monday morning "the band has been welded back to front moment" ), but I haven't used any of them yet (the wife bought them for our wedding anniversary today ).
I spent about 5 minutes this morning before going to work, trying to fit one of the bands to the saw so I didn't have a proper go at it, but it seems that the top wheel is stuck in place and doesn't move when I adjust the tension knob. When I back the knob off it just relaxes the spring and doesn't lift the wheel, and when I tighten it it just compresses the spring with out dropping the wheel.
so my question is, before I go home and have another go and then use the "brute force and ignorance" method after about an hour of struggling, if anyone's had one and has a really obvious "oh, you need to do XYZ to it" answer for me. If not I'll probably end up pulling the top wheel off and checking the track to see if it's jammed or something (and then maybe hit it with a hammer ).
