    Default Toolmac 14" Bandsaw

Got myself a cheap 14" Toolmac bandsaw.

Have just noticed that the 4 speeed motor pulley has a wobble, so removed motor to check it out:

I cannot figure out how to get pulley back onto motor using grub screw and keyway.

Doesn't matter what I do the pulley has a wobble.

    Any advise much appreciated

On cheaper equipment especially if it is a few years old where machining controls weren't the best, it was fairly common for pulleys not to be bored true making them wobble. Providing the pulley is a neat fit on the shaft there is nothing really that you can do about it (without incurring extra costs). You could buy another 4 step pulley but they are going to be at least $50 so if it isn't sending vibrations through the bandsaw it might be better just to live with it. Some vibration can be reduced by fitting one of these type of belts which are available from most bearing & transmission type places here is Aus.
If you are only going to be using one speed, a single pulley can be brought for $10-12 once you decide the size you want, providing it can be positioned to line up with the other pulley it is driving.

    Thanks for reply.

I think it is just age, quality of machining and general wear and tear. Will put it aall back together and see how it goes.

If to bad will upgrade pulley/motor as suggested.
