Default Vac to cyclone - PVC vs hose

Is there much of a difference using PVC between the vac and cyclone vs using some hose?

It is easy enough for me to grab a bit of old 36mm vacuum hose and 3D print adapters but since I just got a new vac I figured I might as well put some effort in and do PVC connection if its better.

Although this doesn't matter as much with VC's (as opposed to DC's) PVC pipe is smooth so it's bound to be better, and you can use 40 or 50mm. However, 90* bends work against you and it's not a long run. Whatever is easiest.

Yeah thats what I didn't know - 90deg + larger smoother plumbing vs vac hose turbulence but no 90deg bends lol maybe over thinking it.

A vac starts out with a high static pressure (much higher than a DC) but cannot convert this into a high flow because vacs use a small impeller which limits the max flow.

The big advantage of this is a vac can afford to lose quite a bit of static pressure without substantially affecting the flow.
The same applies to a vac when using corrugated/flexy versus smooth walled pipe so (unlike a DC) it doesn't matter as much whether you use either up to about 5m of of hose.

Nevertheless if you have a fixed vac line situation it still worth using PVC AND in doing so you might as well use 50 mm PVC - this can be many metres long without losing much pressure or flow.
