Vee Blocks
Can someone tell me how to make a Vee block for cutting up logs for wood turning? Or any other suggestions?
My finger will thank you!
Had a close 'shave' the other day
Thanks

Take a piece of 2" x 2" wood and rip it accross two corners to give you 2 pieces with 2 x 45 deg and 1 x 90 deg corners each. Mount on some ply, mdf or whatever suitable you have, with the 2 x 45 deg sides facing each other. While you are at it make a few with the triangles at different spacings for small and larger round stuff. Put a strip of wood that fits into the bevel groove in your bandsaw table at 90 deg to one end so that the jig just slides past the blade. This one you use for crosscutting. Make a similar one but with the strip parallel to the 45 deg blocks and space it that the blade cuts centrally betwee the 2 x 45 deg blocks. Cut a slot in half way between the 45's. This one is for ripping rounds.
