Hi
I have just purchased the Hafco 16" model and where the tabe is mounted to the frame there are adjusting screws there to "turn" the table to the right angle. I dont know the woodfast but check to ssee if it is the same.regards

Thanks Calm. The Woodfast table is pretty well fixed, being bolted onto a cast iron trunnion mounting, so there is very little movement in the set up of table relative to blade position. Hazard

Thanks for your reply Rsser but as this is my first bandsaw I was hoping for a helping hand, not a slightly aggressive response to find out if I know how to use the forum. I wanted specific information on this saw, not general info.
Woodfast, thanks for response, same specific info required

The Record BS500 looks to be very similar to the Woodfast.
If so, adjust the fence bar nuts. See the manual (though it's not very clear):
http://www.recordpower.co.uk/intrica...cs/1/BS500.pdf
To determine what the adjustment should be see http://www.highlandwoodworking.com/library/resaw.pdf
I found the first site by googling; the second was a link off a site mentioned in the thread 'Bandsaw Tracking'.
[Added: seems you'll need to adjust the fence for each change of blade. If you're only doing a couple of cuts, mark the cut on the piece and steer the stock freehand, against the steel rod supplied fixed to the fence.]Cheers, Ern

Thanks Rsser, Just the sort of answer I was looking for. Unfortunately the fence on the Woodfast is different to the Record version so that manual, although much more comprehensive than the Woodfast manual does not solve my problem. The other link is also very useful. Kindest Regards. Hazard

The fence does not have anything to do with drift. the drift is created when you track the blade forward or behind the crest of the wheels. Blades tracked behind the crown will drift to the right, those in front of the crown will drift left.
There are other posts questioning the tracking and set up problems, I can either repeat my suggestions or you can read those posts. Scroll down a couple of posting to the Tracking ones and you will see my suggestions.
Purely back to setup basics...

Hickory, thanks for the private message. I am trying to get my head around this problem. Some people say all blades drift and you need to compensate for it and now you say the setup will cure all except a poor blade. Poor old beginners like me are left totally confused!!! This is my first bandsaw and the first time I have ever used one so my knowledge is zero except what I read and learn. I will try all your tips and see where it leads me. Kindest regards, Hazard
