Workcraft sw 1403 14"
I am trying to track down a part for this machine, which is about 20 years old.
The part is
Lower Guide Supporter Part No. 110055.
I have been told by the local Toolies that the equivalent today is the Carbatec SW 1401 but they can't supply parts.
I can't seem to find anywhere that supplies these parts.
Does anybody have any idea where I might be able to purchase this part?
Thanks.Last edited by Pommy Dave; 20th August 2012 at 05:47 PM. Reason: Want heading all in caps

There are two ways that I think would be helpful for you. First, you can search for original parts from old machine owners – which will not be easy to find. Second, you can replace parts using aftermarket replacement band saw parts available in the market. For a chance to find those original parts, you need to find someone who might have own the same saw that you have. Try searching for them at VintageMachinery.org | Welcome. Now, if you want to replace the lower guide supporter for an aftermarket and not an original part, you can visit this source: Bandsaw parts; Band Saw Parts for Marvel, Doall, Hydmech and Hem Band saws; We specialize in Marvel 8 Bandsaws. Hope this helps!

Good luck with your quest. Maybe some member here has the same model saw that you have. Let’s just hope he pops out.

Dave,
Post some Pic's of the part , then we will be able to point you in the right direction,
there may be other machines that use a similar guide that could fit,
Have you checked DRAPERS in England, they sell bandsaw parts etc .

You can use aftermarket replacement parts if you can’t find original ones.

Thanks to all who responded to my question. I have been able to track down a replacement part from Carbatec, hopefully it will do the job. Workcraft are no longer.

Info on sw1403 workcraft
Hi Pommy Dave
I am hoping you can help me, I am thinking of buying a sw1403 workcraft and was wondering if you could pass on to me where and what parts are available for this model.
Could you also tell me the wattage or horsepower of the motor?
Thank you in advance for any help or advice you or other forum members may be able to supply!

The 7th post of Dave says that he got the replacement parts on Carbatec . You may try to give them a call for inquiry . And you can also PM Dave for more info about the bandsaw .
