New $50 FVD
Came across these 1HP uber-budget level VFDs on Aliexpress.

Limits:
Only goes to 99 Hz
Only has V/F control - ie no vector mode
Limited number of external control connections
I wonder if it has the ability to set a current limit?
Still - for $50 - if you no 3P but have a small budget level 3P machine and can convert its motor connections to ∆ 240V this could be a goes.
I'm tempted to but one just to have a play with it.

Bob, try and get a hold of the manual before you buy. I helped someone recently who had a cheap VFD and it had a total of 12 parameters that you could change. It had no way to enter motor details or change current limits. It was barely a VFD. Very basic settings only.
Those were the droids I was looking for.

Good idea. I've been caught like that before with a used VFD. It had no "coast to stop" function and max deceleration was 3s which was too quick for teh motor I ws using. BANG - that was teh end of it.
