Soldering Station
Hi all,
I'm in need of a soldering station for the odd electronics job (mostly for musical instruments). My ideal product is something that does the job, but doesn't cost the earth as well. I've found a 40W model with variable temperature at Jaycar for $60, but I thought it would be worth seeing if anyone had any other recommendations before I went ahead. Any suggestions?
Thanks

Soldering Station with Adjustable Heat Range (AUS Warehouse)
They come back in stock every few weeks - you need to put your email address in to have them notify you when they arrive, however you also need to be quick as they sell out again in about 10 minutes. The other option is to order one on backorder, as your order will be filled first when they arrive.

I think they are made in the same factory as the Hakko, ( well, that is the cheap knock-off factory down the road anyway ) they do look identical to the Hakko 936. I wouldn't mind betting that the tips are interchangable with Hakko as well..
Ebay has any number of sellers offering the Yihua 936, this one looks to be the cheapest that I could see off hand $46 with free postage Professional SMD Soldering station, rework stations , solder iron YH-936 | eBay
At that price if they are as good as a Hakko you couldn't go wrong..

Priced at $16.64?? Doesn't seem real.
I already have a reasonably good soldering station, but if I want a spare one then for that amount of money it is well worth it.Bob Willson
