I agree with Chris but it would be interesting to see a fully readable photo of the large block of text at the bottom of the name plate.

It lists the power factor and speed at 50 and 60 Hz.

    Default VFD at Men's Shed

    Hi Steve (and Chris),

We have a VFD installed at Robertson Men's shed running a Clearvue Dust Extractor. As Chris says, he will be visiting this Saturday (11am I think) and if you'd like to come at the same time, you could see it in the flesh and see how it operates. Our set-up is 3 phase supply to a 3 phase cyclone where you are looking to convert single phase to 3 phase for your extractor. So its not exactly the same situation but you may get some benefit eg soft start, ramping frequency up or down for more or less suction/noise, seeing connections in the flesh etc. You have my phone number so give me a ring if interested.

    cheers, Mark

Thanks Mark, unfortunately, as someone who loves whitewater paddling, floodwater trumps woodwork, and there are plenty of great rivers running at the moment, so I'll be tied up on the water somewhere.

I also found this additional badge on the motor, hope it might be useful tosomeone else!

That nameplate says its Y connected motor. It may or may not be able too be converted to ∆ in the motor junction box (take the cover off and take a photo of that if you can). If it cannot be converted in the motor junction box you may have to take it to a motor rewinder for conversion.
