Default WANTED : Base for Hitachi TR-12 router

Hi, does anyone have a base for a Hitachi TR-12 router, one that is flat and in reasonable condition, that they don't want?
    regards,

    Dengy

Do you mean the plastic sole, or the entire metal base? (Did you lose one?)

I am looking for the entire metal base and sliding rods. The base I have bought online is twisted and distorted, badly. I didn't notice it until too late. The router just rocks badly on the base, and you can't fit the sliding fence rods into it
    regards,

Sounds like you have a case for the dispute resolution centre!

Nah, I don't think so. I waited too long to use it after the transaction was completed. Of all things, I never checked the base was level - never come across that before, and haven't a clue what might have caused that to happen

You could try Hitachi on 1300 444 822 - I recently found they had lots of parts for the TR-12.
The part you need is 997-483.

Thanks for this really helpful info, Chrism3, very much appreciated.
I rang Hitachi on that number, and they were most helpful.
They advised the part number for the complete base assembly was actually 997-463, an honest mistake as the exploded parts diagram could not be easily read, with the 8 and 6 being indestinguishable on the diagram.

Also, the plastic black sub base has a part number 956-783. Both parts are in stock.

I have to get on to a local hardware business in order to get a price.
    regards,

Yes, I had to go through the same process.
Here's a link to Norwest Tools that someone on my own thread gave me a pointer to:

    Default Problem solved

Hi Everyone, many thanks for your help. A fellow forum member has sent me a nice flat base and some springs and spare handles today, so I am back in action
    regards,

    Dengy
