Bowl steady for woodturners
This is a Oneway steady head which is quality gear.
For supporting the back of a bowl or platter while turning the front. You'd do that either when driving the cutting tool away from the spindle or when turning thin. Means you don't have to turn one handed whilst damping the piece with your fingers on the back side.
Bowl Steady
This is clamped to a sleeved 1" post to suit a twin banjo Stubby S1000 but can be adapted for any lathe. Min. clamp diameter of the head is about 31mm. Knock up your own post out of mild steel rod and mount it into a bit of hardwood clamped to the bed. It doesn't have to be 100% rigid; it just dampens the flexing. If you're not up to this I can do it to your specs for a price or you can source a mount from Oneway.
Postage extra, at cost.Cheers, Ern
