I collected together the blocks, and there is 20, they weigh from 3 to 7kg, Ill try to make it as even as possible with say a big block and a smaller
stack 1.jpgstack 2.jpg
however some aren't too good, the ones in the left pic, primarily the ones with the center pith still left in the block have split down the center, not sure I'd want to turn a bowl from these ones, they would be better cut down the middle and used for between centers work, like this block, it's the same one as above with 2.6 marked on it
between ctrs with sapwood.jpg
Would anybody be interested in between centers blocks, with or without sapwood?
I also have some Crows Ash blocks, if anybody has a preference, not sure how many I have in stash atm.

Pete, I'm happy with a safe bowl blank and some spindle blanks.

Me too - particularly if the spindle blanks are somewhere in the vicinity of the right size for salt/pepper grinders!

Either is fine with me as I'll end up resawing one for boxes etc, not too much sapwood if possible please

Pete, I'll put in a speculative order for two Crow's Ash blocks for IanW. He's incommunicado atm and no internet access so I will confirm or deny for him later on when he responds to an SMS. Those blocks would be cut up for handles, not turned into bowls etc.
Just heard, and he'll pass on the Crow's Ash

Hi Pete,
Sounds like it's getting a bit complicated...
I'll also be at Maleny. I'd be happy to meet up with you if you could maybe just save me one nice piece of DF? I piped up for two a while back but I'm happy to share with someone else. It'd be good if I could have the option of using it for a bowl, but I kind of just want to check out this timber.
I'll PM you closer to the date to set something up.
At this rate, maybe you should just get a stall at the show!
Cheers,
Luke

Further to my last post, if I can get a Crow's ash blank that would be great too, but, again, happy to share with others.

Sorry, been out of action a bit over the weekend - this sort of blossomed, didn't it? I'm happy to go along with whatever seems fair & reasonable in the divvying up.....
Do you know which day or days you will be at Maleny, PJT? I'm intending to go this year, for sure, having missed the last several, due to various reasons. Be good to catch up & talk wood over a coffee, or your beverage of choice....
Cheers,IW

Yes it has grown to something more than I expected, I thought maybe a couple of pieces to someone local and that would be that, but we will work it out in the finish, I need a few hours to process the blanks to see what I can get out of them, I may also find a few bits of something else as well which I'll bring along as well.
I am making a piece for the Wootha so flat out with that, the cyclone put me behind a bit with the cleanup and then a few logs to cut up, all being well I'll be about Friday, not sure of other days, I could be be in Bris. for a few days after, might also be in Bris for a week or two after, don't know yet.

Hi Pete,
