Makita 3620 1.25HP Router
I am listing this Makita 3620 router (1000W) for a friend. It has a 1/4" collet and has had very little use. My friend said he has used it three times. By the look of it and the way the motor runs (it is the sweetest little thing) I quite believe this. To back this up the router bit set included in the purchase price has also has had little use.
I think my friend thought I might buy this router off him as I have bought some other gear of his. When I switched the machine on, I was sorely tempted as it seems like a little jewel, but with five other routers of my own even I had to say no.
Back to the router: It is a no frills variety being supplied with a straight guide and three spanners complete with original box and owner's manual. I weighed the machine on SWMBO's kitchen scales and it is 2.75Kg bare. When I assembled the router there was a spring missing from one of the screws that clamps the straight guide. I had a similar spring which I have added. I believe it will work just as well as it is only to prevent the screws coming loose and getting lost while the straight guide is not being used.
There are no other faults of which I am aware. This is an ideal machine for somebody getting started with routing or who wants another lightweight machine.
Included in the purchase price is a 15 piece router bit set and also a single additional straight bit as shown in the pix. My friend paid quite substantially more for these bits than the total starting price of the router. Seven of the fifteen bits are unused and still have their protective "goo" covering them.
Postage will be at cost. The total weight is just under 5Kg. It will fit probably fit into a post bag of that size, but otherwise it will be packaged in our own packaging. It will be posted from the sunshine coast or by arrangement it may be possible to pick up from there if preferred. Payment is to be by cash if picked up or electronic transfer if posted.
All in all a very nice package. I hope you are interested as if not I may feel obliged to buy it myself and I am running out of explanations to SWMBO .
Ask any questions. Any answers will be to the best of my ability.Bushmiller;

There have been two bidders so far and I acknowledged this, but only a single bid has shown above. I am new to the auction system and probably did something wrong. I thought I had better explain why a single bid only shows and is above the starting price.

A little more information for prospective buyers on the bits included. The unused pieces include bits for rebating, beveling, flush trimming and two straight bits. These are arguably among the most useful in the set. The used pieces also are still fairly sharp. The criteria I use with tungsten carbide is to see if they will take a small shaving off a finger nail. Most of them will.
I have also revised the reserve price as this machine is genuinely up for sale. As the auctioneers say ,
"It's on the market!"
