Red gum burl
IMG_0486[1].jpg Hello all, I just gained a member ship to get some advice on what sort of money I should be selling this Red gum Burl for.
My pop managed to obtain it about 10 years ago when one of the trees came down on his farm. 6 inches thick in the center, 3 foot long, between 40 and 50 kgs. It was sealed 10 years ago, no bark coming of it, been sitting in a shed for a while but past away before he had the chance to use it. Any advice for me, or anyone interested?

Burl
Not so long ago I bought a stack from a wholesaler at Bogan Gate. I paid $2.50 p.k for red mallee burl, dried - beautiful. So I dont think $10 pk is in the ball park or realistic. Drillit.

Others are quoting shop prices, but as an individual, you will not get close to those prices. It will depend on how solid the burl is, its colour, features and shape.
Take some more photos of the other side of the burl, give it a hit with the hose first, it will help clean it and expose some of the grain.Neil____________________________________________Every day presents an opportunity to learn something new
