Default Wanted: Rosewood Tote to suit Stanley #7

Just picked up a reasonable looking Stanley #7 for restoration (as a user tool) and need a replacement tote, rosewood preferred (definitely not a newer plastic handle). Doesn't need to be spotless, just needs to feel good in the hand.

Thanks, they look real nice, but that's almost as much I paid for the plane. Think I might just shape a piece of scrap to fit and epoxy it on.

    Cheers

Get a bit of rosewood. Then go to the lee valley (veritas) site. They have full plans including templates for all the Stanley handles you can download for free. Bit of fun and almost no cost

Chook, thanks for the tipoff on the stanley tote plans on Lee Valley. I have a #5 with plastic handles I have been planning on upgrading for a while. I reckon it will be easier to copy the plan than the plastic handle.

+1 for the Lee valley tote plans/instructions. If you have large hands it may also be an opportunity to customise your plane.
