Wanted: SA, Olive
Hi there,
Im after some sizeable pieces of Olive. I have a few small pieces that i have collected over the years but i cant seem to find anything of a noteable size.
If anyone has any that they are looking to sell, or if someone can point me in the right direction please get in touch.
Cheers
Sam.

What do you consider sizeable?
If you speak with Mitcham Council, they may allow you authorization to cut some from certain reserves where it has grown out of control.
There are plenty of trees near where I live at the base of the foot hills where it is considered a weed, and a fire hazard in summer. I'm sure it could be harvested.

Excuse me from "butting in"......I wouldn't mind some Olive too. Just to have a play on the lathe to make a couple of tool handles.
I would only be looking at say 25-30mm square and say 120mm long. A couple of pieces would satisfy me. If applicable I have some Yellow Box and Iron Bark if anyone wants to do a swapJust do it!
Kind regards Rod

Sizeable pieces of olive to me would be anything larger than 1m in length and 200-300mm wide. Ok i might try and get in touch with a few councils.

If you're ever in this part of the world you should be able to find some nice wild olive timber. They grow all over South Africa but don't really get very big. http://www.countrywoods.co.za/Timber...WildOlive.aspx
