Default solidbody timber and project guitars to a good home - sydney

Good to see some old members here from when I was active on this site, hope everyone is doing well.

My instrument building has slowed down to all but a halt. I had about 5 instruments that were at various stages of being built that I have barely touched in the past few years. I just don't have time for all my hobbies and not actively playing music with others has me not working on making any either. I'd like to see someone making the instruments into something worthwhile. I still have a couple projects I plan on finishing but the bits in the photos I don't expect to ever get to and would like to see them being used.

The following is for sale/trade. All the timber has been stored well in the garage away from moisture for the last 3 years. It was all originally bought from anangote timber in marrackville.

There are many pieces of timber suitable for a laminations for a neck and a piece of rock maple suitable for a one piece neck. There is an 8mm thick long piece of wenge suitable for 2 seperate fretboards or a bass fretboard. There is also an african cherry cap for a guitar or bass. It may be bookmatched but I can't remember if it was. It is a great looking piece of timber with nice grain markings but only lightly flamed if anything. All dimensions ans species are as marked and timber is free from defects.

Additionally there are "scrap" bits of timber that are perfectly suited to a centre laminate in a body or could be machined into laminates for a neck or similar. These are not properly marked but are good to use. Only notable issue is the long piece of tas myrtle - there is a knot in the middle and some sapwood coming through on the longer side of the knot (knot is visible in the photo). With some proper planning it could make a nice neck with a jointed headstock and a something laminated either side (it's about 5mm too narrow for most necks)

Additionally there are 2 started projects that I doubt I will get to in the next 5 years - a double cutaway LP style hollowbody with a new guinea rosewood body and tassie myrte cap (20mm thick so it could be carved to shape) with a tassie myrtle/QLD maple neck (plenty of length and thickness for a set neck). Striped ebony fretboard available and fret slots are cut.

The second is a offset telecaster bass 6 I was making. The body is NG rosewood with a african cherry cap and the neck is merbau/maple/wenge/maple/merbau. The body could be used as anything at this stage but the neck may be difficult to use as anything else due to the odd 30" scale length.

Both of the bodies have some minor tearout around a couple spots on the body that are either very minor or have been fixed by finding the chip that had been removed and glueing it back in place.

There is also an odd shaped body of quite well figured silky oak about 45mm thick that hasn't been routed to finish size. I can provide the template for the shape which is somewhat original. I can find a photo of another guitar I made with the same shape somewhere if you are interested. It was going to be paired with the maple neck and the black hardware.

I also have some guitar and bass hardware as photographed.

If anyone is into pickup winding I have a fair bit of pickup parts that I could part with.

Also I have a project valve amplifier a friend picked up from a garage sale that runs 4x6L6's. It works fine but it has too much background noise and the tubes are just about dead. In my opinion they squeezed too much into the chassis and it would make a great base for a project. I don't know the specs on either transformer or even the plate voltage.

give me a call on o4o3 9o8 5six7 if you are interested in something - I'm happy to make a good deal as I would like to see some of this good tmber/parts put to use.

detailed photos (so you can read sizes etc available here http://smg.photobucket.com/user/blac...=recent&page=1 )

Current Auction is for all timber and instrument parts as photographed but negotiations can be made for some of it.

I put in a bid but it has not shown up
I gather you have to manually accept or reject the bid, unlike ebay.

Quite right, I got an email but it didn't show up here. I've accepted it now.

    Default Re Auction.

Not sure what is happening with the Auction. 57 minutes or so to go on the clock and it states that the listing is closed.
I left a message on your mobile if you could please call me. Greatly appreciated. Branka
