Stanley #7 in great condition, English made
I have owned this for only 9 months, and it has had a couple of previous lives (at least). One of them was "K Rock" who stamped his name into one side. The japanning is 100% intact (maybe somebody re-did it?). Handles appear to me to be the original Rosewood, and are in good condition. This is a very good user plane, and I am selling it because I have purchased a Bevel Up plane - no need to have both of them. I do not know when the plane was made.
There are a few options for the blades.
It will come with an original Stanley blade, but there is a choice of two:
1. English made (and the blade that came with it when I purchased it). Specifications are 20° Hollow Grind bevel, 1.9mm thick, 60.35mm wide, 178mm long, and 35mm from blade edge to keyhole (so not a whole long life of sharpening left).
2. USA made, which is from my #4½, but has a much longer sharpening life left. Specifications are 25° Flat Grind bevel, 1.9mm thick, 59.55mm wide, 195mm long, and 49mm from blade edge to keyhole
So, you can choose which of these blades you want.
There is a third and better option, but is additional to the price:
3. Harold & Saxon High Speed Steel blade. Specifications are 25° Hollow Grind bevel, 2.5 mm thick, 59.45mm wide, 195mm long, and 55mm from blade edge to keyhole. These blades are no longer being made by H&S, and yield increased performance of this plane, as well as better edge holding. As the blade is slightly thicker (with a little more authority) it changes the geometry of the frog/mouth etc very slightly, but I have had no problems at all with it. Suffice to say that I never actually used it with the original blade, and did almost nil work on flattening etc to the original (actually I started to flatten it and buggered the tendons in my hand during the process so it was never finished - I just installed the H&S straight out of the box).
If you want the H&S blade it is an additional $80, and this is NOT included in the bidding price - that is just for the plane with an original blade.
I have fitted H&S blades to all my Stanleys (6), so that should say what my opinion of these blades is.
Showing the photographs of the plane disassembled (which is how it will be posted) so you can see the condition of all the parts.
This is the optional H&S blade:
POSTAGE:
Total weight is about 3.6kgs, and it fits into a 5kg AP satchel, so postage is $16 to anywhere in Australia.

Ok Dogman, sold to you with thanks. I'll just go down to the shed shortly for a failsafe check that the US blade fits properly (it measures properly but I've never actually fitted it, so wise to be safe).
Will Pm details. and close Auction after the check.

All good with the US blade in it, but the blade will need sharpening etc.
