Maybe you can entice people with some photos of the wood on offer.

Perhaps also consider selling the slabs, and then you could buy a lathe of your choice.

When creating your post, there are three rows of icons above the text box click on the 13th Icon in the middle row then choose from PC and select the files (photos) you want to upload. Make sure they are not to big before hand something around 600x400px I think is a good size.

    [takes deep breath]

I have a Carbatec-badged MC-900 I bought some 10 years ago, that has been sitting idle here in Katoomba for the last year or so.

Not particularly high-end, but it has been a good, reliable machine and I think I still have most of the original bits'n'pieces. (Drive spurs, spanner, knock-out bar, etc.)

I'm reticent about letting a chuck go with it, but that's negotiable should anyone decide they want the gal.

In a week or two we'll be heading down to Melbourne (family emergency) for a day or two and could take it with us, arranging to meet up somewhere along the way if any interest is shown.

For similar reasons to yours, I'd prefer to keep any negotiations low-key... so "PM me if you're interested."

(FWIW, I've been procrastinating about putting her in the For Sale section for quite some time now... I need the floor space but it has been good to me and I'm not keen to see her go. )
I may be weird, but I'm saving up to become eccentric.

If you are getting Skew's lathe you are getting a good beginners lathe. I have the H & F version and am very happy with it. There are some posts on this type of lathe showing minor mods to make it better.

Recently with mine I had to replace the belt as it wore out, which is easy to do when you know how as per this post.

Good luck and welcome to the addictive world of turning.

I prolly have a chuck which could also be swapped for a little slab. If skew doesn't want to let one of his go. I think I have enough of them. Somehow. Hwat thread? Although inserts can be had for little money.
