vl 300 wood lathe
An old friend of mine has just gone into a retirement village and has asked me to sell the following .
VICMARC - VL300 long bed wood lathe . -electronic variable speed-chucks - face plates - chisels and many other bits and pieces. He was an exceptional wood turner , winning many grandchampion prizes with pieces turned on this lathe.
No pics available at this stage but if you are interested these can be arranged.
Price - $3500 the lot .
This type of lathe does not come along very often - second hand.

I wish. I would need a payment plan. Sounds like it is probably a good deal

Can't understand the lack of interest in this lathe? These don't become available s/h to often.

Yep, I am surprised as well. That's a very good price, IMHO
Further, why don't these happen in WA??????????????
I need a Vicmarc, although I need a VL 600. Sorry to hijack the thread, how about 'bump'

I would love it, unfortunately I don't have the space or the money at the moment to buy it.

Yep, i know the feeling. I was in the market for a replacement large cast iron lathe and as soon as i bought my new one, 2 VL300's come on the market. Only problem it would cost me around $1000 round trip to collect one.
Thats life, lets hope someone gets the bargains,
rgds,
Crocy.

It all looks well used and no matter how well cared for is a big unknown factor which is that much harder when looking from a distance. At $3000 with the all the chisels and any other accessories it would be a more attractive offer and I could consider the 3000+ round trip to pick it up if I had the money. If it is still there by christmas I will revisit it and see what options might be there.
