Wanter to Buy - 3/4HP electric motor for a bandsaw
Hi, recently the motor burnt out in my 30 plus year old bandsaw. I put a2HP motor into it, but it is just to powerful and the pulley is not really the correct size for the bandsaw. The 2HP motor had an odd size shaft and it was the only pulley I could get at the time. I am now looking to bring it back to its original with a 3/4Hp motor with a 16mm shaft on it. I still have the original pulley.
Anyone have one laying around they wish to sell,..?
Regards, Paul

Hi Chris, and thanks for your reply. The shaft is exactly 15.8mm, I measured it yesterday. I am assuming it would be ok for a bandsaw with the mounting base plate etc.
Please let me know the postage and your selling price. My postcode for postal purposes is 2448 (Valla Beach)
Regards, Paul

Hi again Chris,
I just had a look at a rough estimate of postage. I put in a weight of 16kgs, and a size of box 40cmx20cmx25cm. From Canberra to Valla Beach. With Australia Post it come up at $72. I then googled a few Carriers and found the same size varied from $36 to $41 with Fastway ($36), Couriers Please Road ($36) and TNT ($41).
Maybe you have these down in canberra,..?
Also is your motor a 1400 rpm, (or thereabouts).
Regards, Paul

Hi Chris,
Thanks for your reply and going to the trouble of weighing it etc. I think 2870 would be way to fast, as the original motor was 1400, 1430 I think going on memory. I still have the original pulley which would make it turn exactly the same as always.
Sorry about that, I'll have to keep on looking,
Regards, Paul
