    Stewie, I believe some of the other guys use a mop wheel to get that nice polish. I assumed you did the same. You said hand buff is that what you mean't or do you have a manual labor way of doing it that doesn't require the purchase of equipment???

    Nicely done although I must say I quite liked the first version with the longer cutaway.
    Kind of reminiscent of a nib on a hand saw.

    Hi Dale. I use a combination of both buffing methods to work up a shine on the backsaw.

    Hi Hiroller. Minus the actual nib, that was the look I was trying to replicate.

    Ahhh, I was hoping there was a way I could copy to get out of having to buy buffing mops to keep up with you guys.

    All work has now been completed on this backsaw.

    I have included a photo showing the results of the kerf test on hardwood.

    Thank you for your interest.

    regards Stewie;

    Next time I better put my prescription glasses on. I could hardly see the pencil lines.

    Very nice! What's the tooth profile: rip or crosscut (I guess crosscut)? Also, did you consider another handle screw? Another also: where did you source the blade plate?

    hello veloaficionado. Thank you for your feedback.

    The answer to your questions. Its been sharpened rip tooth; 10 degrees negative rake so its also compatible for crosscut work; I purchased 0.020 and 0.025 saw plate through this forum.

    regards Stewie;
