    Default Block plane saw jointer.

Hi. Does anyone else use a block plane to joint their backsaws.

For larger non spined hand saws I would personally recommend using a jointer plane.

    Hi Stewie

The one thing I've got agin any jointing device I've seen so far is that it only uses the middle of the file (perhaps 1½-2mm). So even on a narrow 15mm file there's still a good 10mm gone to waste (assuming you don't try to use the outer 2mm on the edges).

Now a good jointing file is not so easy to find these days, so I'd rather get 5-6x the use out of one!
    Regards, FenceFurniture
