    Default cranked gent saw

    Hi Sawyer,

long time nor read. I Stil make saws, now without Klaus, who had to retire as a sawmaker.

This is a special saw for a friend, who had helped me thousand times and never took anything in reverse. He is a trained German Cabinetmaker and doesn't use much of handsaws but an old ulmia cranken gent saw. So when I asked him, wich kind of saw I could make for him, he ansered a crenked gents saw.

The industrial saws of that ty like the Pax one from Thos. Flinn have a cranked Spine and a cranked Blade to. That way the saw can saw flush. i cannot crank a blade. So I pinned the blade to the spine and cranked the spine only.

    Enjoy the pictures,

    Cheers
    Pedder

    Nice saw !
I have one similar with a cranked back that pivots on a center pin so it can be used left or right. Its made in the 1950s I think. It gets used a fair bit sawing things flush.
