Take 2 (god i hate tec stuff when it breaks
    saws 395.jpgsaws 396.jpgsaws 398.jpg
Well are crazy December for me is nearly over thank god. And i got to spend time hanging out in the creative zone.
And this is the result so far, unfortunately, and i feel bit silly i cant remember the type of timber (any ideas peoples)
The brass back is oval in length with a slight radius to the bottom edge.
Then sanded to 3000 wet and dry, and a quick polish.
Tho i am now thinking i might put a little detail towards the front. some sort of small scroll work god i hate it when my mind runes over time
The handle i may or may not keep, as i discovered a borer hole (insert bummer) quite close to were i plan on putting saw bolt.Hence it is not finished yet
I think i will file this one to crosscut.
Your comments greatly received (remember its Xmas still lol).

Interesting idea, I like that you are prepared to push the envelope and try different things.

I'd like to see the finished saw, and see how it feels. Putting more weight at the toe ( relatively speaking ) would probably change the feel.

I really like your brass back ... it looks kinda like 1960s Italian racecar or something ...

I'm nooooo designer but my half-felt instinct is it would suit a handle thats outside the traditional sort ...

Not necessarily this ... but different.

Wood and metal together? or something like a solidified pour of gold or bronze ... ????????

(I think I was thinking of something like a continuation of that brass into the handle - because it already has movement in it ... like a print ad for a high-speed train)

    Very cool.

Good to see the materials supplied being used and not sitting on a shelf someplace. Still plenty of spine here if you want to experiment further.

I like the organic shape of the spine, but I think the tote would need a similar organic flow with no sharp points and edges. That's my view anyway.

Dale your spot on with tote
I plan on starting that again
I found a small borer hole and split to boot
Tried repairing it but I think sometimes it is best to just start over

Nope been away camping. I did come across some sheoak trees and some huge burls and quietly accessed the potential of cutting them down with the small saw in my leatherman…In the end the trees are still standing.
