I'll need to find it again, Got some tube/pipe there 3 months ago.

They were in that block near north rd and princess hwy, oakleigh/clayton.

Will find and post details when I find it.

Think I'd be able to drive there but not remember address.

OK, pretty sure this is the mob I went to George White | Australia's leading stockist & distributor of non-ferrous metals

Sweet little saw. I like the workmanship, imagination and flair that you are showing.

Of course, this is now saw making as an art form....

High end saws have traditionally been decorated, fancy wheat pattern carvings, elaborate etchings and exotic timbers multiple medallions etc... so there is a long noble tradition of adding a bit of 'bling' I'd draw the line at pink diamond studded, however...

I think I really missed out on something here as I sit back quietly and stalk this thread.

Some very impressive work guys, well done! I haven't got back to mine yet but I have refurbished a backsaw as a gift for a friends young son. Should start back on mine again soon, unfortunately I don't think it will be in Simplicity's league but if the teeth face the front this time I will be happy.

I finally finished my dovetail saw a couple of days ago after being interrupted by mundane tasks such as painting and tidying the garden.
It is not in the same league as others but I am pleased with my first effort. The handle is finished with U-Beaut Trad Wax. The blade etc was polished with Brasso.DSCF6505.jpg

Just found this at a local market in Ballarat.
Glad I did go out in the rain.
    Eclipse No 77 saw set.
Interesting the anvil is very narrow .
With out measuring it ,I would say around .8mm
Perfect for setting my small back saws .
Very happy camber $15 well spent .

I had to set up to slit a couple of extra pieces of brass today, so for anyone interested in doing something similar, I've posted a video over in the metalworking corner of the forum.

    Thanks Ray
    For putting that together
I've been thinking of getting a slit saw to use in my router table with the speed turned right down of course.
But am concerned with blade wobble ?

    Default Reworked an old saw

I did these teeth by eye, following the existing angles as best I could. I filed this almost back to plain steel as the teeth were brittle and crumbling. Comments, anyone?

Looks the goods Groggy, how does it cut?

The bottom picture looks a bit "cows and calves", but I think that's just the angle the picture was taken from, as you don't see it in the top picture.

    Regards
    Ray

    PS What saw is it?

Hi Groggy. Not a bad attempt at sharpening. Watch the following link Sharpening Western Saws . Its one of the best guides to saw sharpening I have come across. After viewing this video link you will have a much better overview to the area's you need to improve on and more importantly how to get there.
