Very nice thing to find on the doorstep.
And how amazing that you needed some.
    what a coincidence...

And I'm in for either day as well.
will make dovetail on the day and take a carcass away with me.

I'm a little disturbed with all these non-argumentative people, happily in agreement and salivating at the prospect of a little learnin'

... it's kinda ruining the reputation of the internet.

    Just sayin'.

I don't know if this is what you are looking for ... but as far as 'advanced' goes ... there is very good information on

    Default Update

Ok Guys it has been a long and pain full process but I have secured a Venue finally!

The bureaucratic nature and red tape that one has to jump through these days is amazing. After being told it was all good to be at Holmesglen Tafe through one dept and then have them pull out, I went on to Box Hill Tafe, CAE, various Mens Sheds, one one was really keen unfortunately the Fed Gov still hasn't approved them to open their new shed and they pulled out in fear that it wouldn't be open in time. Spoke to a few Woodworking clubs, one had three members call me up to make enquiries and then never get back to me after their meeting….I was starting to panic when I finally ende up almost back where I started and I went through a different department at Holmesglen and this head of Dept had a bit more initiative and approached the Dean of the Tafe and we now have a secured venue with an well equipped workshop for use.

So I am happy to announce that it will be on the:

    Saturday the 9th of November
at Holmesglen Tafe, Chadstone,in the Furniture Dept.

I have also gotten special dispensation from the HTPAA for participants of the workshop to be allowed to attend the 'HTPAA MEMBERS ONLY' Hand Tool sale on the Saturday evening with I think it was a $5 entry fee. Normally it is only open to the public on a Sunday and has been picked over for the best by the members, so for those of you interested here is a good opportunity to see and buy some nice collectable tools and users at a good price. Of course you can always return to the sale on the Sunday after that special item plays on your mind over night.

I will be checking my sums to make sure we are breaking even now the venue cost is in and posting the price and enrolment form up very soon so stay posted. Please no early PMs to enrol (keeping it fair), question I am open to.

Question: What number of kits / parts would be made available (if any) for purchase for people who may not be able to attend?

That depends on what is left after the workshop. Until I get the registrations in with what people want I won't really know I am just really hoping I have enough at this stage. What is left will be made available to the forum.

If there is enough interest after the workshop and if I haven't burnt out on the saw front there maybe be the possibility of organising a group buy.

Sorry I can't be more help than that at this stage.
