Regan Tongue and Cheek
I haven't been around much for a while other than lurking but I finally got around to making a Regan style half back I had drawn up about 1-1/2 years ago now. Yes I am slow. This one is big leaf with black Mother of pearl. The initial doesn't show up very well. So still working on that. Critiques always welcome.IMG_1935_zpse5b81e72.jpgIMG_1934_zps3be7f3f7.jpg

Great work Ron. Did you make the inlays?

I specified the dia. and thickness of the dots from a company in California, I think. The dots are epoxied into the brass fasteners and then put back on the lathe and turned. Sanded to a 4000 grit then buffed. The medallions are then laser engraved. The MOP never look right in pictures, btw. They reflect the light and look white instead of the black.

Beautiful Ron, I like the MOP against the lighter timber.. Does that handle design need to be made differently for right and left handed versions...
(Like the Disston Number 9 backsaw )

Yes. Based off of the no. 9 initially for the sculpting aspect. There were some things about the handle I did not care for. Sooooo. I changed it to suit. IMG_1939.jpg
