Yes could do with a few to play with. Got any? Not tried the filer yet, no time yet. When I have finished playing with my saws I may have to sell the units as I dont have the room to leave them set up.

I've done a few saws now and Del74 came up and had a play the other day. We toothed anything we could find. Even had a go at the filer. After much head scratching and trial and error we filed a saw and the only problem was one tooth got filed 3 times. I think it is worth persisting with it. Not sure about the filer but I like the toother. The toother leaves a small ridge on the under side of the tooth. That will file out with the first or second sharpening.

Nick, suggest you stick with rip teeth on the backsaw until you are up to sharpening speed. And. Go to the saw sharpening workshop on this Sunday - not far from you I suspect. Details - http://www.tttg.org.au/php/tttg_Page.php?n=04
Cheers

Peter
I tend to agree which is why I'm going to wreck a couple of panel saws first
I wanted to go to that saw sharpening workshop but No 1 Son is competing at a State Athletics Carnival at the same time, so I'll be sitting at SOPAC at Homebush from about 7 - 7:30 am with camera primed and ready to go Hopefully he'll come home with one of these
I just hope there are no walking races on before his events as they are a cure for insomniaregards
