Default saw sharpener and tooth punch

I went to see an old mate today and he showed me an automatic saw filler and a retoother.

They look like they would work. I know nothing about these type of machines, he showed me a saw that he had retoothed. It looked very even. I can buy these machines but have limited space. but am very tempted.

I took a few pics of them. Anyone ever used these things?

Yep. I use a foley belsaw retoother to punch out my saw teeth. I file them by hand though.

You might ask about getting saw-files for the filer.
    I have a copy of that manual (387) ... there's a lot in there.

I have some sawblades that I guess are raw from retoothing, they have a punched-metal look to them ...

Paul, they look like peg teeth, and yes the punched-metal look is because they are... punched

And judging by how far up the saw the teeth are, someone had a lot of goes on the retoother!

    Cheers

385: as long as you have the ratchet bars and carriers, you are good to go. Can't really speak about the filer.

I seem to have everything but the jig to hold the circular saws. Looks like 16 ppi is the smallest.

One of the videos mentioned three holders ... straight, breasted and backsaw.

Have you got those .. and if you have a chance ... can we have a photo please?

    Thanks,
    Paul
