    Default Disappointment and disgust

    Hello all,
A storm in a tea cup? Please excuse my dummy spit but I am very irate.
Wife purchased on EBay a Shelley tea set which , for us, was fairly expensive. The items were listed as being in excellent condition.
On arrival a number of the cups & plates have old cracks in them, ie the cracks have a stain where tea? has got under the glaze, a sure sign of old damage.
She contacted seller who says she has a good ebay history and that two people checked the items as they were packed. However the damage is old and we also had several people present when it was unpacked.
What really annoys me is that she says she does'nt want the items back because we will substitute damaged goods for her sound items.
What a BS cop out. We too have an excellent ebay record , witnesses to the unpacking etc.
What to do now?
    Regards to all, Bill

Why not contact ebay explaining the problems as you did to us and ask them if it is a matter for them to investigate or for the Aussie Federal Fraud Squad or for both?

    G'day Gnu52,

My wife buys and sells a bit of stuff on eBay, the best thing she says you can do is leave the Seller really damning & negative feedback.

And contact eBay, but probably little that can be done otherwise. The majority of Sellers are honest, unfortunately there are some dishonest ones out there.

Otherwise how have you paid? If by PayPal it'd be too late, if by Visa etc. reverse the payment and leave the Seller up the creek with no payment.

Try to disput the issue through ebay. I've had the odd idiot and they seem to come around when ebay contacts them. The only thing neg feedback does is incites them to retaliate whether they are truely justified or not.

    G'day,

Once negative feedback is left, it's an indication to other potential buyers of the Seller's integity and honesty. Once they recieve a proprtional amount of negatives against positives they are barred from selling on eBay.

the first was with a seller who didnt answer emails and didnt send items when paid for... contacted ebay and posted negative feedback... seller contacted with hours and sent the items plus some extras and refunded to paypal no cost to me

Second was with a particular necklace I bought which had totally different stones than the ebay seller had shown and described in their auction were supposed to be amathyst but was malacyte two totally different stones

contacted ebay and posted negative feedback stating the wrong item to discription within hours of the negative feedback the bloke was going frantic sending me 6 emails through ebay and within 24 hours ebay had contacted him and problem was resolved I got to keep the item sent and I got refunded the money paid and seller had the negative removed... it worked

    Thumbs up resolution

Ebay do have dispute resolution. Look under buyer resources on the site map, then the title is dispute resolutions "Item not received or significantly not as described policy". It involves submissions to ebay and mediation. Good luck. I've had bad ebay experiences and they have certainly made me wary even though they are in the minority. People are essentially good.

Thanks for your comments. We have had many successful deals on ebay, this one happened to be for an expensive item and thats a pain. We are presently attempting the resolution process through ebay. Thanks again, Bill

I had a bit-o-crap happen while using Ebay......

I basically bought the item........paid for it within a few hours.........didn't hear from the seller for several days.......started getting p1ssed.........

Finally heard from them and got the "oh my computer crashed........it was shipped........yada yada yada........"

I told the seller that it didn't matter that his computer crashed as he had an online business and he needed to find a computer to check on his customers. There are plenty of free public computers at libraries over here.

Anyway, I left neutral feedback for mediocre service.......the guy was livid.......I now have negative feedback as retaliation and there is nothing to do to remove it.

I say Eff em and feed em fish heads!!!

I hope you get your problem resolved with less headache!!! Sux to get burned.

    Best wishes

    Scott
