    Default Industry jobs

    Hi to all

    Some time back around April, I posted a question to you all about geting a job in the furniture industry. There was a lot of discution about it. Was it better to keep it as a hobby, other's recon it was the best thing thay did.

    Well I have good new's. I happend to notice a position avaliable in the local rag for a Technology Assistant at the local private school near were I live. The role was to look after the woodwork and metalwork rooms, cut material for students, sharpen tools, etc.

    Well I am happy to say that I got the job and start January next year. I have finaly got out of the gardening job I hate and going into something that which was a hobby, is now an enjoyable job. I hope.

    Any way thanks to all thoughts that commented on the post and Merry Xmas to all and a Happy New Year.

    Congratulations.
    Hopefully being a private school you will get a good pay rate, probably better conditions than a job actually in the industry.

    I'm assuming its part time?

    The Job is actualy full time.

    I had a choice of 4 weeks annual leave or 7 weeks annual leave. I chose 4 weeks annual leave because the pay was a little more.

    Unfortunately it is a little less than I get now. But sometimes you have to do what it takes to stay sane. However I wont have a fuel bill. Its only up the road. A 20 min walk and i'm there. Time to break out the push bike.
