    Default PET PEEVES & GRIPES

I thought that some of you might like to have a whinge about your pet peeve or gripe.

This is NOT a forum for bitching about companies or other individuals.

My pet hate is the so called handy man packets of screws, nuts et al.

We normally buy in bulk from the suppliers but occasionally you need a few odd ones that you don't normally use.

Off you go to purchase a little packet.

Murphys law states that if you need 8, they come in packets of 6, so you have to buy 2 packets.

You have 4 left over and the next job requires 6. You can't win.

Any way let's hear your whinge.

Yep I hate when you have measured twice then measure again twice, cut once and you are still short, its ok in metal as you can weld a bit on, but you are buggered when it is in wood.
As a keen motorcyclist, I remeber when sex was safe and motorcycles where dangerous!!!!

One of my biggest pet gripes is that when one machine breaks down, it is usually followed by another, and it always happens when the work load is rather busy! Why O why!! And lets face it, no matter how much maintanence you do, some problems are just unavoidable!

    cheers

Red face See what you find when you do a search!

Pet Peeves: Garage sales advertise "Tools", when you fo there, they have on average 1 hammer(Broken), 1 screwdriver and some crappy files. Where are the tools from yesteryear? Where are the sheds full of pre WWII hand tools? Even, even where are the 1 or 2 pre 1980 power tools? Where are any clamps? G's, F's, Sash or Pipe of any length? Argh!!!

Someone had another frustrating day of checking the garage sales, thank goodness I had a good surf! Good luck to all those that find these treasures!

Start turning a burl bowl and find a bark inclusion that just keeps on going and going into that beautiful burl and that 300x100 bowl ends up 250x50.

    Somebody found an oldie

My pet peeve is the tossers who drive with their fog lights on when there is no sign of fog at all. There should be a rule that if you have a wanker with their fog lights on pull up behind you at the traffic lights you should be allowed to get out and smash them (the lights that is).

    Ahh that feels better.

Not having a universal size for dust outlets on stationary and hand held power tools (well a universal size for each). You have to have a million and one fittings and several hose sizes to get everything to work together

Gotta be the people who play the man on the forums rather than discuss things reasonably
