    wow great service from lee valley ordered parcel 12th nov recieved 26th nov ordered from a festool site in australia on the 14th nov payment processed 17th and still have not recieved it how can post be so slow in aurtralia

    Post in Australia is unpredictable. I sent a parcel down to Sydney a couple of weeks ago and it arrived the very next day. Other times it takes a few days.
    Reality is no background music.

    It's an unfair comparison
    1 -- you know when the payment for the order was processed, but not when the item was posted
    2 -- was the Lee Valley order sent by post or UPS ? - it makes a difference

    Business Post is different, from time of order to it getting even out of the building let alone picked packed and picked up. One companies process took 3 weeks till it got out the building.

    I think the major difference is that most Australian companies are primarily set up for retail -- mail order gets done when the counter jockies have a bit of spare time on their hands -- which might not be till next Thursday.

    in the US mail order (and now internet) sales have been a way of life for well over 100 years.
    I'm told that till about 1950, the Sears catalogue was arranged by seasons so as it was used for toilet paper the unused portion remained relevant for the coming season
