Default Just another reason this forum is languishing

    https://www.woodworkforums.com/f132/m...4/index15.html

Almost 220 replies on one topic and viewed by more than 8,500!!!! I'd say it'd have to be the biggest single thread on this forum and kept folkes entertained for almost 6 months when the forum has almostnothing here day after day... and now its been locked cause it ran it's natural course!!!!

I check in here every day, most days morning and night, but almost nothing goin on....

I find posting pics and telling the stories about my cutting has now become almost a full time job, which normally needs two or three attempts with stuff crashing or timing out while forming the post, let alone the bashing tha seems to go on when all you do is try to show something ya love.

I mean c'mon to have guys send messages about using a bloody apostrophe or not and not only once, or havin a go at the likea of Carl for typing teh instead of the what teh hell????

things have changed a whole heap around here.....and not for teh better I feel
I love my Lucas!! ...just ask me!
    Allan.

    Interesting.

I have a different view on this and feel that starting a thread or posting a comment is a way of communicating.

Christos, thing was mate, I was making a comment specifically about the Small Milling Forum, turns out, moderators over there didn't like it and moved my comments over here....

Yeah, I agree with you Allan. These days common sense is not always that common.

Happening elsewhere too Al, we've been through this a couple of times before... eventually they get sick of it & bugger off & leave us alone for a while.

Yes I guess the forum is languishing a bit with an average of only 55+ new threads and 450+ new posts per day for the last month.

However if your comments were aiming at the Small Timber Milling Forum then yes it is a bit slow but it is far from languishing. Not every forum will get hundreds of hits per day, not every forum will get a new thread or even a new post every day. That's just the way it is.

    As for the entire forums:

Most popular/viewed thread: Eureka canoe with 246,773 views

Most replied to thread: Not a joke. Just a bit of fun MK.VI - with 4,488 posts then there's the total posts for the entire ongoing thread from MK.I through to MK.XI totaling somewhere around 40,000 posts.

Bit harsh on MM I reckon. After all, it was the purchaser trying to instigate a sale not the vendor. MM's only crime was to respond to a question saying the material would be available for sale in due course and any further negotiation was to be by PM.
Personally, if I never see another stump requiring milling, it will be too soon.
But there is no doubt about it, when it comes to figure, that's were it's at.
