Default ScoMo a man for every occasion!

I have never spoken about politics on this forum but it seems to me that only in Australia can you be criticized for taking the responsibility of governance seriously as well as forward thinking in the way of contingency.
I don't believe for one moment that he had any interest or intention to undermine the democratic system.
Glad to see people standing up and showing gratitude for a man who takes his job seriously.

The only difference between the politician you think is bent and the one you think honourable is the latter hasn't been exposed yet.

Secretive ? Yes. Illegal ? Unlikely. Corrupt ? Yet to be proven.

I've never been a fan of John Howard but his advice to Albanese was profound, unless like me you think there is a deeper agenda than short term sledging. Dutton will fail. It's not clear whether he will be rolled before or after the next election, but unless he is profoundly disgraced you can bet the farm Scomo with be there when Dutton's head rolls. Albanese might be buying "insurance" against Scomo's resurrection.

I just wonder if he got the ministerial allowance (pay) for every position that he held.

That question has indeed been asked, but for the moment there has been no information forthcoming.

If he had stopped at Health Minister, for which I think he had good reasons for wanting to have a standby health minister; I would agree with you.

I'm pretty sure we have not heard the whole story yet.

Question, how many ministries does one need to hold a hose?

    I'm assuming this is satire.
But if I'm mistaken I might say the only contingency Scomo ever had was saving his own skin.

If there were good reasons for him to take on all these ministries at the time, why did he keep it secret? Why was the only time he used the ministerial power, to override the real minister and interfere in an unpopular gas exploration project? Nothing to do with health, or anything else that could require urgent action because of covid.

Yarralumla is 3.1 kms from Parliament House or 6 minutes by car according to Google. We were told that Morrison sent advice and a ministerial appointment form for the GG to sign rather than visit him to be sworn in. Total time required for an urgent appointment to the ministry; say an hour. So Scomo's reasons for an immediate backup if the minister falls ill don't stack up. And why him? Why not another senior minister?

    The whole thing is bizarre.

(assuming that was not a tongue in cheek post)
Ummm, who might they be (apart from one or two parliamentary colleagues)? I haven't seen anyone, apart from Angus Taylor, who thought this was good and defensible idea, but I have seen a helluva lot of current and former colleagues who think it was insanely poor form.
