    Default Good Service - Timbercon

I have been critical of Timbercon in the past over a problem I had with the previous owners but I must praise them this time.

I placed a relatively small order by internet on Friday morning and the delivery man was on my doorstep at 9 this morning so I think that is good service from Perth to Melbourne

To date, all my dealings with them have been excellent.

Default Fees, Fees and More Fees

Well, glad you're happy with them, I'm still having grief!

Apparently if the courier they use (StarTrack) comes to deliver the goods (which in my case came 5 days after they sent it) and you're not home then they will not try to deliver it again unless timbercon authorise a redelivery, which won't happen until you pay Timbercon an additional fee.

In my case the "redelivery" fee was about 10% of the orders value. (about $14.50)

only other alternative ..... I'm looking at a 60km round trip to the couriers depot halfway to Ipswich, during business hours, to retrieve what I'd ordered.

There is nothing on their T&C's stating this, it's never happened to me with ANY other companyt before, I spoke to a guy at Timbercon (Alan) who basically said that their condition of "We Use Startrack Express" infers that you need to track the parcel yourself and make sure you're onsite when the courier gets there (+/- several hours) or you'll be slugged with a potentially large fee.

this is apparently a recent thing ...... but it's apparently my fault for not staying home all day waiting.

Thanksfully there is a Carba-Tec locally so I won't be buying from them again, it just isn't worth the grief.
    (sigh!)
