I'd seen that and I'm not sure what to make of it.
The jaws are just an add on. I have one much like it.
It looks like a shaper vice but I'm not sure the screw goes thought the fixed jaw(as they normally do on shaper vices), certainly no nuts on the back. If the screw is working in compression there doesnt seem to be much at the other end to take the thrust?

Ask the second seller to take a pic of the motor nameplate 'so you can check with your sparky friend', and compare the serial number with the one visible in one of the first auction shots (3M9505 or 3M9503 or something close to that).
