Only 3 tonne from Heidelberg to ACT! I notice the same item new is price: 93,000 yuan price reduction X6132C_铣床_价格93000元_机床商城 Problem is that it's in Guangdong Province. ($14,495 AUD=93k yuan) makes ebay purchase $2.8k look positively inviting . . . You've obviously got more space than me.

All the best in (re)assembling the DC.

Yes, and the guy who started the bidding on that is an absolute moron. When it first came up, it had a starting price of $75, and a buy it now of $150... And if you look at the bidding history, the same starting bidder later puts $150 on it...

Not that it surprised me at all, I looked at it and thought it was a screaming deal at the buy it now. I figured it would either be gone in an hour or two at the BIN (I saw it within an hour of being listed), or that the above situation would occur.

    I'd love to grab this.

    Lathe metal turning | eBay

    Bit far from me unfortunately.

Very interesting little units. This one is as good and complete as you could hope to get.

All in genuine Russian blue paint.

The writeup is priceless - part of a "diseased estate" LOL

I saw that and was wondering what it was. The drive cover looks like Southbend, but I recon it's something else. Anyone got any other suggestions.

I saw that Canberra one Ewan. They pop up in Adelaide occasionaly and generally go cheap. Be quite a lot better than the Chinese mini lathes. Sort of a mini Russian Drummond The queensland one looks really really good - like new.

    Edit : I see it's now marked as a Southbend B9W

    Cheers

    Interesting link and lathe.

The orange paint on the controls looks pretty gross. I wonder if that is original ?

Amazing what you see on Ebay.

How do some of these smaller items get listed over and over again indefinitely? Surely it must cost more than the item is worth in fees ? Am I missing something here ?

For the money it's probably not bad value, but hardly a "quality" job - these were built up from kits.

It's at General Tools and accompanied a Hercus 260 in the same rusty condition probably from the same deceased estate. I checked out the Hercus and although it was a single owner, it had plenty of wear towards the headstock. I see someone has bought it. Couldn't have been very accurate as it was.

    hi Rob

Lightburn also made washing machines . They also had a go at making a little car in the early 1960's , the 'ZETA' .

    Hi Mike,

    Lightburn were/maybe are still going.

They were/are only about 2 Km from my place.

I went there about 5 years ago and they were still going, but I think they were reduced to importing everything including cement mixers from China - the production side was finished.

They still had seals and washers for big old Lightburn truck jacks (which is what I was there for).

Not sure what's going on now as they don't have the Lightburn sign out front anymore.

They really blew everything on the Zeta and then China finished them off.

Holy Cow ! That looks as though it may have been used in the machine shop of the QUEEN MARY . There would be close to $500 in scrap metal in it
