It looks like one of the Chinese lathes that have a milling attachment mounted on it, but has been removed.
Similar to H&F https://www.machineryhouse.com.au/L159Shane
Still trying to fit a square peg into a round hole.

I am sure some of these were available at times without the Mill/Drill attachment.
Colour looks to be the same as these.

Probably one of the very few wives in the world that wouldn't be at all impressed by flowers...
I think the real reason is that it's starting to get a bit crowded in that huge workshop... 5 lathes should be enough?
I like that J&S... thinking hard... must resist....

You mean an internal spindle like this one...

But you are right about loading. It's a good thing they haven't got taxi trucks with lifting platforms in Melbourne or you'd have no excuses.

Precision Starrett 199 on YankeBay
It's not especially cheap, but not right OTT either, but it does look in very nice nick, not mint, but close. Anyone seeking a nice Starrett 15" model 199 could do worse than this one.

Only 11 hours to go though, description on this and on many other items that seller has, is a bit sloppy, - he says that country of origin on the level is U.K. which I very much doubt, but he has an eclectic mix of stuff for sale, with a good lot of it pretty interesting. Shipping charges a bit hit and miss too.

He needs one of these too .RC
He really needs one of these or something similar .RC, and this one is nice and compact and won't take up too much shed space.
