Good morning gents, I do like to view E bay posts here is interesting and those of us who seem to be time precious is as good way of viewing items rather than trawling through for hours.I personally value more time to trawl through forums posted here and threads.
I value the integrity of the members and their life time experiences and input they give freely and selflessly.
We all love a bargain and is a good idea here to post for other members interest, after all aren't we all trying to asset build on our resources to make our chosen interest more useful and preserve some of our rich machine tool heritage.Day by day the manufacturing ability is going to other countries rich in cheap human resources, this is in product of the ''cost of our labour price here.
Is a win win for these countries both in the products they produce and our lovely scrapped machine tools.

I threw my blue cape on and rescued this guy from the jaws of hell.
Lathe suggestions? (Anyone in brisbane?)
I'd expect him to be a member from tonight. And a big welcome from me.
Anybody got a lead on a beginner lathe in the Brisbane area? He has a $1500 budget.
I've told him he can have Richards 10EE Just to get him started and all. Least I could do.
Regards Phil.
(On edit) I might have just shot my self in the foot. I knew I should keep that blue cape for Sunday's
Some insight/assistance required with a part
Isn't that thread 15 hours, 44 minutes before the one requesting a lathe. But in the last one he says he's ordered an AL50 from H & F?
Perplexed. Phil.
Edit on edit. It pays to read all the way to post #14. "The search continues"

Hi Phil,
I'd say he would be better off with a cnc lathe to turn that internal profile, and he says he's proficient with cnc... problem is in the $1500 budget, closest I could get on a quick look would be a beat up Mazak CNC lathe (starting bids for $3500, and it's in Sydney ) a budget of 5-10k would be more like what's required.
Maybe you can get the blue cape dry cleaned ... nice thought tho..
Regards
Ray

cash mill
That is rather pricey for a vintage 1940's machine. I paid $280 for mine , it is pretty worn out I admit , but still , a good project for a rebuild . Mine is the plain version, I don't know what they mean by 'UNIVERSAL' as the table does not appear to move in any other direction eg X and Y .
