Well I may not get it yet, waiting on information to see if it has a tailstock or not.... Seems to have every other accessory, but cannot see a tailstock anywhere...

If that's what it came down to, could you fabricate one Richard?

Make one. I've a spare TS casting for a Hercus lathe taking up space here, I'll happily send it to you to get rid of it.

He is 95% sure the tailstock casting is there... But will confirm Monday... Not really looking for another machine tool project of a large scale at this point in time, so if it is not there, I will not get it...

There's the quick - and the disappointed.....

Nothing to do with me, incidentally. Far too small a shaper to be useful on my projects. Besides I've got one I hardly ever use.

The ad says "comes with tailstock/centre" - so it should.....

PDW: how tall is the Hercus casting you have there? I mean base to centre height... My Van Norman cylindrical grinder doesn't have one and what I've found so far is too tall.

    Cheers,

It has what appears to be a tailstock shaped wheel dresser in the photo.... But not anything I could identify positively as a proper tailstock...

I can identify the wheel balancing stand, a steady, the original base for the work head, also has the original coolant tank and what looks to be an accessory tank for grinding wheels...

It appears to be set up for internal grinding some tall objects... You would expect the tailstock to be there given everything else seems to be there, but you never know... Will find out Monday for sure....

PM me if you want to know of other stuff he has for sale.... Since this thread is open to everyone not just members, not fair to members if a non member reads this and gets in first...
