P.SI have no idea, why it splits the quote like that. I tried to edit it 4 times.

Phil, make sure Marko verifies the stroke if that matters to him. There was some discussion about it in another thread, starting here. A few of us agreed the stroke quoted is likely wrong.

    Phil,
If it is 850mm as he describes i would say well over 2ton. If it is smaller i would say under. Fredie was 1250kg just for the body, internals and ram. I reckon the motor, box, knee, table and head would push it to about 2000-2100kg.
Thanks a lot for the scraper too.

Regarding the SHW UF1 Milling Machine listed on ebay as being in Tom Price - you know, the dark side of the moon - not really for those of us in Western Australia.

I rang the gentleman selling it - and surprise, surprise -It is not in Tom Price - It is in Toowoomba.

A family member did the posting for him and something went astray in terms of location. He will be seeking to rectify this but I suspect that it will be relisted to do this as the ebay auction time is nearly over.

This might make it a little more attractive to those of you in the East.

For me I suppose this makes Toowoomba the dark side of the moon - only joking!

    Regards

    Quentin

Is a an East German mill like the Thiel, Deckel, Maho etc. the SHW is a bit larger in travels and the vertical head remains mounted constantly. It just swivels out of the way when the horizontal is in use.

Tom Price is just beyond the dark side of the moon however.

I contacted the guy for a BIN price, but he sent me back a price for the forklift, must have got mixed up. It went for more than I had.

Quentin. Don’t let that worry you, you wont get your head bitten off here, for making a rookie mistake. Stick at it.

Toowoomba, you say. How far is that from Rockhampton? We know this bloke from there.....

    Regards Phil.

I'm glad to see the description tells you it has an on off switch.........It really annoys me when people give no really use info in a description. Like so many lathes are advertised as Old, still works, 3 phase. No sizes, metric/imperial etc.

Surface grinder it's not. It is a 1949 or older No.3 Tool and Cutter Grinder. Same as my anchor. Most probably suffering from the same wear.
