The CVA that I mentioned in post 182 went for $509 to an A.T. of Picton WA ( Anorak Taylor?)
A bargain really as even as mixed CI scrap metal because of the weight it's worth around $350.

LOL I thought it was a typo when it was originally listed for $2000... Now it is back at $1500.....
$15 would be a more appropriate starting price...

For the lotto winners
I seem to recall a similar machine in Brisbane on ebay a few years ago for the same money.
Myford Precision Lathe Model 254 Plus with Milling Unit | Tools & DIY | Gumtree Australia Brisbane South East - Burbank
Unlike my previous contribution to this thread I don't think you'll need to trip over yourself getting there.
For anyone wanting a decent welder this might be worth a look.

Thanks for the heads up Michael. Can anyone tell me if this type of vice is suitable for general use on a pedestal drill?
Precision vice, 60mm, in timber case Auction (0128-3001354) | GraysOnline Australia
I have a Record 4" drill press vice, but the moveable jaw is very sloppy and kicks up when it's tightened. I would like a vice with jaws that remain parallel.

Hi Chris,
I'd say that vice is a little over the top for use on a pedestal drill, but then there are pedestal drills and then there are Pedestal Drills. I certainly wouldnt let that stop me buying it if I needed it and the price was right. One thing though, depending on the type of work you do, they are slow to adjust.
Do you have a picture of your vice? maybe someone has a "fix" for them.
So many pretties, luckly most of the bits and pieces have gone out of my "I can get that past her without to much eye rolling" price range lol. I think I may have to stop looking at this thread.
