Thanks Stuart, if they are slow to adjust then it isn't really what I'm after. I doubt much can be done with my current vice. It has very loose castings and isn't of the dovetail-slide style. I'm pretty sure it's just a hobbyist's woodworking vice.
There are lots of other vices up for auction although most are already up around $130. I'll ponder it.
R.C.- she's getting a set of carbide boring tools for Mothers' Day.

I seem to recall it pn ebay for ten thousand a couple of years ago. At the time I thought it an ambitious ask. 25k is right out of the ball park. You could land a low hour Eisen for less at the moment. Or anything short of a Schaublin 135 for that matter. Monarch 10EE, Hardinge HLVH I/M, etc etc.

Bit expensive? Now that must be the understatement of the week....It had better be in a much better condition than it looks at that price, and come with vice....
Spotted this Mill outside the center of the know universe, i might go have a look, just because. Not that i have any money, and really, if i buy a second mill i would rather it be a universal head or a twin like the one Phil (steamwhisperer) is looking at. eBay Australia: Buy new & used fashion, electronics & home d

Machines worth buying?
I found these machines on Gumtree.
2 shapers 500mm stroke $1300 ea
2 horizontal mills $900 & $700
welder
Guillotine $500 1 metre x 1.5 thick
Radial arm drill Big
1 lathe $1300
He also has a bandsaw, cylindrical grinder, surface grinder
They are all chinese I think, hardly used - if at all
His name is Wayne on 0433 333 823
@ 56 Korong Rd, Heidelberg West
He needs to move these quickly so he will probably drop his prices.
Hope someone gets a bargain, I did - A 1500 x 1.5 panbrake for $600
I will be back there tomorrow to pick it up and can get more photos, etc if needed.
Just ring me on 0401 107 920
John
